Internet Is Here
The ISP finally felt bad for me and sent the technician out. Monday and Tuesday, the guy couldn't make it out. There was an outage at some building on Friday and that was more important than me being without internet for two weeks. Yesterday, he came but the key the leasing office gave him didn't work. I come home today and there are new modems here but the link light is still blinking. Luckily I came home early today because of training and was able to catch him before he went home. He spent an hour and a half hooking up wires in the basement before the "link" light on the modem stayed on. DSLReports speed test pegs me at under 250 kbps down and 370kbps up, which should barely be considered broadband. Normal web surfing is fine but I can see my DMB concerts taking forever to download. Right now, I'm just happy to be back online. The bitching will recommence once I become disappointed with the speeds (which will be soon).
